Effects of Energy Drinks

Energy drinks......just the thought of it makes me thirsty, we use it to dilute alcohol, for hangover recovery and just to give us the right energy to get us through the day. Energy drinks have become increasingly popular over the last few years, and with their association with sports and an active lifestyle, you could easily think that energy drinks might be good for you and despite using it for a number of reasons there has to be some sought of side or long term effects on the body. Energy drinks have the effects caffeine and sugar provide, but there is little or no evidence that the wide variety of other ingredients have any effect. However, a variety of physiological and psychological effects have been attributed to energy drinks and their ingredients. Two studies reported significant improvements in mental and cognitive performances as well as increased subjective alertness. Excess consumption of energy drinks may induce mild to moderate euphoria primarily caused by stimulant properties of caffeine and may also induce agitation, anxiety, irritability and insomnia. During repeated cycling tests in young healthy adults an energy drink significantly increased upper body muscle endurance. It has also been suggested that reversal of caffeine withdrawal is a major component of the effects of caffeine on mood and performance. Consumption of a single energy drink will not lead to excessive caffeine intake, but consumption of two or more drinks in a single day can.Other stimulants such as ginseng are often added to energy drinks and may enhance the effects of caffeine, and ingredients such as guarana themselves contain caffeine. Adverse effects associated with caffeine consumption in amounts greater than 400 mg include nervousness, irritability, sleeplessness, increased urination, abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmia), and dyspepsia. Consumption also has been known to cause pupil dilation when taken with certain antidepressants. Most mainstream energy drinks do not provide electrolytes, and have a higher likelihood of an energy "crash-and-burn" effect. Caffeine in energy drinks can cause the excretion of water from the body to dilute high concentrations of sugar entering the blood stream, leading to dehydration. If the body is dehydrated by 1%, performance is decreased by up to 10%.

Health Risks of Energy Drinks

There are a number of health risks associated with energy drinks, including:
  • Caffeine intoxication
  • Caffeine withdrawal symptoms, including headaches
  • Caffeine overdose, which can be life-threatening
  • Cardiovascular problems
  • Raised blood pressure
  • Obesity
  • Sleep disorders
  • Calcium deficiency

Polygraph/lie detector test

I know for a fact that many individuals watch TV shows like Maury and Steve Wilkis which demonstrates a lot of lie detector testing for either cheating women and man or for molesters, but some people either dont believe in it or does not understand how it works. A polygraph (popularly referred to as a lie detector) measures and records several physiological indices such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and skin conductivity while the subject is asked and answers a series of questions. The belief underpinning the use of the polygraph is that deceptive answers will produce physiological responses that can be differentiated from those associated with non-deceptive answers. The polygraph was invented in 1921 by John Augustus Larson, a medical student at the University of California at Berkeley and a police officer of the Berkeley Police Department in Berkeley, California. Polygraph examiners, or polygraphers, typically begin polygraph test sessions with a pre-test interview to gain some preliminary information which will later be used for "control questions", or CQ. Criticisms have been given regarding the validity of the administration of the Comparative Questions test (CQT). The CQT may be vulnerable to being conducted in an interrogation-like fashion. This kind of interrogation style would elicit a nervous response from innocent and guilty suspects alike. Polygraphy has little evidence to support its use. Despite claims of 90% validity by polygraph advocates, the National Research Council has found no evidence of effectiveness. There have been no empirical theories established to explain how a polygraph measures deception. Recent research indicates that Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (FMRI) may benefit in explaining the psychological correlations of polygraph exams. It could also explain which parts of the brain are active when subjects use artificial memories. Most brain activity occurs in both sides of the ventrolateral prefrontal cortex, which is linked to response inhibition. This indicates that deception involves a subject’s inhibition of certain questions, such as attempting to be truthful while lying. Recalling artificial memories are known to activate the posterior cingulate cortex. However, fMRIs are limited to being expensive, immobile, and having inconsistent lying responses. Some researchers believe that reaction time (RT) based tests may replace polygraphs in concealed information detection. RT based tests differ from polygraphs in stimulus presentation duration, and can be conducted without physiological recording as subject response time is measured via computer. However, researchers have found limitations to these tests as subjects voluntarily control their reaction time, deception can still occur within the response deadline, and the test itself lacks physiological recording. So in conclusion you cannot 100% know if someone is lying because a polygraph test because not only is the test inaccurate but people can deceive the test.

Ladies......Does size matter?

Some women love when a man is well endowed for either satisfaction or just to feel good about their men, while others are afraid of the pain and just seeing a big penis scares them to death. Men love their penises, from the time he is born, a man's penis becomes his best friend. He will love it, fondle it, get mad at it(especially when it stops working), respect it, listen to its opinion, and get in trouble for it. Men are obsessed with their penises, even if they don't realize it. Most men live in constant fear that their manhood is not big enough. What they don't realize is that a recent study, involving 800 men of all shapes, races, and sizes, concluded that the average penis size is 5.5 inches. I know a number of men will be pissed about this study because they are persons who claim they are under 5 inches (damn). I think women who feel that they aren't pretty or sexy enough because they have small breasts are like men who think that having big penises make them more manly and better lovers. The truth is that these men lack self-esteem and their self-worth is placed into their penises, although i know for a fact that most women would love if the man they fall in love with is well endowed. Some women simply don't care about size. There will be the odd ones who say it is very important, but they are usually the ones who love aggressive sex. Women do talk about their men's penises...often. But most of the time, the focus isn't on size; they focus more on what you did with it. I read alot of articles and i realize that any questions that are aimed at a doctor is size of penis, the way i see it is to just give thanks for what God gave you.... if you are big or small the main thing is to learn how to use it and please your woman so she wont complain.

earphones and ear damage

I did a research in college back in 2007 about the effects of noise on the ear drum and i cannot believe that today i am actually using ear phones with the maximum volume in my ears and i know for a fact that it is not good. Although many people like to turn their headphones up as loud as they can after having a bad day or to get their mind off things bothering them, experts from Universities in Jamaica and abroad have shown evidence that turning the volume on your headphones up too high can damage the coating of nerve cells, eventually causing temporary deafness. According to the researchers, the noise levels similar to those of jet levels can be heard on earphones or headphones on personal music players if they are turned up loud enough. The headphone volume often has to compete with the background noise, especially in loud places such as subway stations, aircraft, and large crowds. Extended periods of exposure to high sound pressure levels created by headphones at high volume settings may be damaging however, one hearing expert found that "fewer than 5% of users select volume levels and listen frequently enough to risk hearing loss. Some manufacturers of portable music devices have attempted to introduce safety circuitry that limited output volume or warned the user when dangerous volume was being used, but the concept has been rejected by most of the buying public, which favors the personal choice of high volume.

What are the signs of hearing loss?

The type of hearing loss due to headphone use is typically gradual, cumulative and without obvious warning signs. A hearing test and a medical examination are the only way to truly diagnose hearing damage.
These are some signs
  • Ringing, roaring, hissing or buzzing in the ear
  • Difficulty understanding speech in noisy places or places with poor acoustics
  • Muffled sounds and a feeling that your ear is plugged
  • Listening to the TV or radio at a higher volume than in the past

for now its all fun to hear the music we love very loud in our ears but trust me its not worth the risk.

Minimize spending

 overspending and broke
In this world that we live its quite difficult to minimize your spending especially with the high prices and the temptations from the finer things in life. It’s hard to say no to yourself when the urge to spend strikes. Despite all the urges there are ways to minimize and also we have to force ourselves to minimize or we wont have anything for the future.
  1. Don’t shop for fun. People especially Friends go on shopping spree for things that are not needed, people need to make a list of fun things you can do for free or low cost and post it. Keep away from places you tend to spend money.
  2. Play with getting your needs met. Get enough rest, fun, and quiet time so you don’t need shopping to satisfy you. Find a hobby like workout and stick to it, challenge yourself
  3. Use cash. Avoid using atm machines and this will make it more painful to watch the money go out from your fingers.
  4. Pay bills before the weekend, this will eat up money for entertainment with friends
  5. Always use a shopping list.
  6. Keep track of your spending for a week to see what your spending holes are maybe magazines, coffee, dining out, home accessories, or books. And each week plan to spend a little less on those items.
  7. Look at your reactions to the people around you. If you are jealous or envious, ask yourself why. Something may be missing in your own life but trust me, it’s not stuff.
  8. Remember, the thrill is in the hunt of finding the “perfect” thing. Once you buy it, the thrill is gone. Try new games  Can I make it through the checkout line without buying that magazine? How little can I spend today at the grocery store? Can I find something more creative to do with my friends besides go out to eat?
  9. Read about poverty and people that are suffering? Some would kill just to have a descent meal, we need to appreciate our blessings and dont blow it. Once you have the basics more things and more money doesn’t make you happier. And in some cases it can make you less happy.
  10. Talk with frugal people. Many people are as happy with the challenge of spending as little as possible as others are who love to blow all their money.
  11. Dont hangout with people who are all about partying, you will spend more than you have and these people tend to reach in financial problems then they will come to you.
there are many ways to save money, although the economy is messed up we can survive without these new gadgets everybody want the latest phones, cars, clothes etc. I see people buying phones that cost way more than their monthly salary, people taking out cars just to look flashy this is all foolishness. The people who are making these items are already rich so they are gaining while you are losing. Just ensure that you live to your standard dont spend what you dont have and forget trying to impress people.

Are dreams real?

Dreams consist of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The purpose of dreams are not definitively understood, though they have been a topic of scientific speculation and a subject of philosophical and religious interest throughout recorded history. Scientists believe that other, non-human mammals, as well as birds, also dream. Dreams can last for a few seconds, or as long as twenty minutes. People are more likely to remember the dream if they are awakened during the REM phase. The average person has three to five dreams per night, but some may have up to seven dreams in one night. The dreams tend to last longer as the night progresses. During a full eight-hour night sleep, two hours of it is spent dreaming. Scientists at Boston’s Harvard Medical School say they’ve made the stunning discovery that dreams are not, as once thought, a series of abstract sensations, images and sounds that occur during sleep, but rather demonstrably real events that take place in an alternate universe that can only be accessed during certain stages of unconsciousness.
In a study published by scientists, detailed how they monitored a number of participants during various stages of sleep, and gave them complex tasks, such as bringing objects from the dream world back to the ‘real’ world. They said it first became apparent that dreams were real when subjects successfully managed to retrieve a number of items, including a comb, a lantern and a baby dragon.
Kevin McCaffrey, a neuroscientist and researcher who helped conduct the study, said that anyone was capable of retrieving objects from dreams, so long as they concentrated “really hard.”
“What people haven’t realised until now is that this alternate universe that we might call Dreamland, is actually a very real place that people do go to when they sleep,” he said.Well as usual there will always be mixed reaction as to whether dreams are real or not because some dreams do come true so we'll just have to continue read articles and draw our own conclusions.

When a woman says NO

When a woman says no, it means that she’s not interested in you. Instead of pushing and hanging around her just to make her change her mind, you should ask yourself the reason why.
She may say no because you are not her type. You should go look for your type. No matter how hot you think you are, some women will never go on a date with you. You are not God’s gift to all women. Be humble. Go look for your type.
Here are some reasons a woman says no to a man

1. Selfishness and hatred of men. The modern big city society, both men and women, are awfully anxious about their own lives only and do not care about other people’s feelings. They believe their sexual attractiveness must be sold at the highest price. Women of the type love to humiliate men and make them feel ill at ease.

2. Man’s looks betray he is short of cash. Women pay particular attention to men’s financial status. So, those males who look like having not enough money stand a poor chance of getting YES to their invitation for a cup of coffee. Men should better seek acquaintance with women who look as well-to-do as they are.

3. She is not alone. A woman may turn down other men’s invitations in case she already has a partner and wants no more acquaintances.

4. She is a sophisticated coquette. A great number of women with low self-appraisal and also married women belong to the category as it is important for them to know they are sexually attractive and to get confirmations of it. They may behave as if they would not mind to get acquainted with new men but in fact they do not at all plan to date them. These women just need to flatter their pride and feel their superiority.

5. She has some emotional problems (may be she is a hysterical girl?). This is a category of women who once dealt with mean men and who are absolutely sure that males are the cause of all troubles in the world. Such a woman will turn down your invitation just because you are a male and for no other reason.

6. Man’s first step in getting acquainted was wrong. Some women like strangers clap them on the back and say ‘Hi, babe’ while others treat the manner as brazen impudence and will try not to deal with you even if finds you attractive. So, men should mind woman’s social status and education to choose a proper approach for getting acquainted with her. An approach suitable for a market seller will not work with a doctor or a teacher.

7. A bad moment for acquaintances. A woman may turn down man’s invitations owing to circumstances beyond the man’s control. Probably she has some serious problems at home or in the office, or she feels bad and realizes that she looks not very nice on this particular day. But for the troubles she would have probably said YES to your invitation.

8. She is probably still suffering from breaking up with her previous partner. If a woman invited for a date says she wants no dates and needs some time to look into herself it means she is still suffering as has recently broken up with her partner. She wants no new romances. In this case, first try to become friends with her and probably later the relations will become more romantic.

9. You are too diffident. Women will never agree to date men who look absolutely diffident and dumb when making attempts to get acquainted. The best thing a diffident man can expect in this situation is winning the status of a friend. Men must be confident but never rude or familiar when striking up acquaintances with women.

10. A woman just does not like you, that’s all. And nothing can be done in this case. Tastes differ.

From Rags to Riches

Rags to riches may refer to any situation in which a person rises from poverty to wealth, and in some cases from obscurity to fame--sometimes instantly. This is a common archetype in literature and popular culture.
While inheriting a billion dollars is still the easiest way to land on list of the world's wealthiest, it certainly isn't the most common. Almost two-thirds of the world's 946 billionaires made their fortunes from scratch, relying on grit and determination, and not good genes. Fifty of the self-made tycoons are college or high school dropouts. The most famous billionaire dropout is Microsoft's Bill Gates, who finally got his honorary degree from Harvard University in June, 30 years after quitting the prestigious school to sell software.Other billionaires, such as media maven Oprah Winfrey, made her fortune against far greater odds. Born in rural Mississippi, she spent her early years living in poverty on her grandmother's farm. Wanting a way out, she moved to Wisconsin to be with her mother, but was sexually molested by her male relatives. At age 14, she reportedly gave birth to a premature baby who died. Only after moving to Nashville to be with her father did her luck finally start to turn. The stories of the bootstrapping billionaires range in age from 40 to 91, hail from diverse industries such as fashion and oil, and live in five different countries. Russia's richest man, Roman Abramovich, was an orphan. Apple's iconic Steve Jobs was adopted. Jobs dropped out of Reed College when he couldn't pay the tuition; his net worth today could support nearly 40,000 students at Reed for four years. Three others, including Ralph Lauren, are also college dropouts. Others are high school or grade school dropouts, proving that street smarts can often trump book smarts. The U.K.'s publishing magnate Richard Desmond, for instance, quit high school when he realized he could make more money working in the cloakroom of a club; at age 16, he borrowed his older brother's suit to get a sales job. He's been selling ever since, peddling music, porn and celebrity titles including OK! magazine. Asia's richest man, Li Ka-shing dropped out of school at age 15, after his father died, to work in a factory. Kirk Kerkorian quit during the eighth grade to take up boxing. He later flew airplanes on daredevil missions across the Atlantic during World War II, before sinking his money into his own airline and reinvesting profits in Las Vegas.
Sin City has also been good to Sheldon Adelson. The son of a Boston cabdriver borrowed $200 at age 12 to start selling newspapers; he later held stints as a mortgage broker, investment advisor and financial consultant. The high school dropout and Broadway enthusiast studied voice in his teens, but it was another kind of stage that called him--trade shows, where he made his first fortune. Adelson later gambled on casinos in Las Vegas, Macau and Singapore, and took his Las Vegas Sands public in December 2004.
Good luck and good timing is also helpful when creating vast fortunes from scratch. James Cayne, for instance, moved to New York to play bridge full-time; he was spotted by Wall Street legend Alan "Ace" Greenberg, who was impressed by Cayne's card skills and hired him to be a stockbroker at his firm Bear Stearn, Cayne is now chairman. The world's wealthiest novelist, J.K. Rowling, was on welfare raising her little girl when her agent called to tell her that Bloomsbury would publish her book about an adolescent wizard named Harry Potter and now the rest is history she is a billionaire. Sometimes when people make critical decisions in life it is sometimes for the best, no one knows what the future holds, who knows some of you reading this might be the next billionaire.

Effects of Plastic Surgery

Many people surgically alter their physical appearance with the intent of boosting their social and psychological well-being; however, the long-term effectiveness of plastic surgery on improving well-being is not guaranteed. Plastic surgery is often associated with a picture-perfect look, free of wrinkles, blemishes, scars and any other physical problem, almost undermining the risks involved in the procedure. Even after the significant progress in technology, plastic surgery still involves many side effects and dangers.
Plastic surgery is the surgical method of correcting or restoring body parts and their functions. The word plastic comes from the Greek word plastikos, which means 'to mold'. This surgery also involves molding or shaping the body features and parts either for enhancing the appearance of an individual or for restoring a deformed body part and its functions. Accordingly plastic surgery is categorized into two main fields, cosmetic surgery for enhancing looks and beauty, and reconstructive surgery, which is carried out for the purpose of restoration of damaged body parts. Reconstructive plastic surgery is mainly performed in the case of severe burns, injuries, congenital defects and developmental abnormalities of organs, infections or diseases and for cancer or tumor removal. The history of plastic surgery, especially for reconstructive purposes, dates back to 2000 BC, India. Several bad or negative effects may also be associated with the process, which can range from financial to physical and psychological effects.Plastic surgery is a very expensive procedure, which involves skin grafting. It can put tremendous financial pressure on you and your family. While assessing the cost of this surgery, people tend to take into account only the cost of the surgery, and completely overlook the unexpected cost that can arise from postoperative complications and the hospital charges they have to shell out in case they have to stay back in the hospital for any postoperative procedure. People also forget to consider the cost of postoperative medications, which can't be avoided, as not taking them can result in further complications. In all, plastic surgery is a costly and complicated affair and considerable care and precautions need to be followed after the surgery.
Plastic surgery involves several surgical risks like pain, infections, allergic reactions, nausea and vomiting, which are commonly associated with any kind of surgery. In addition to these, drug reaction, implant rejection, pigmentation, blood clots, skin necrosis and nerve damage on the particular area are some of common adverse effects of this surgery that may give rise to many complications. The process may produce additional risks for smokers, as they are more likely to face problems like delay in healing wounds, increased risk of infection, bruising, and pulmonary problems. In rare cases, plastic surgery can lead to heavy blood loss and organ failure. Patients opting for plastic surgery, especially cosmetic surgery, should be very well aware that the results they obtain might differ from what they were expecting before they went under the knife. Sometimes these procedures can leave behind scars that may not go away with time. This can have a lasting psychological effect on patients, plunging them into depression. People suffer from intense regret and anger toward themselves and the doctor for a procedure gone horribly wrong, not to mention embarrassment and criticism they might face from friends and family. It has been observed that many individuals undergoing plastic surgery tend to suffer from an obsession with their look. This can cause an addiction and may impel them to undergo plastic surgery several times. A common psychological disorder in this regard is known as 'body dysmorphic disorder', where people develop such a distorted and weird perception of their body that they can't be satisfied with any look.

Renting items - make money, save money, be green

In these tough economic times many people are looking for ways to shave expenses off their budgets. One tried-and-true method is to rent instead of buy. Environmentalists have long pointed out that we can also significantly reduce our impact on the planet if we borrow the things we only need occasionally.
Making new products takes a massive influx of energy and resources, from petroleum products to wood, rubber, metals, minerals and more. The fewer things we buy the less companies will make, and the more savings for all. Plus, buying less cuts packaging waste, a significant problem. Folks in cities are already used to sharing resources such as cars, washing machines and workout equipment, which is part of why urban areas tend to have lower carbon footprints than rural ones. But many of us can go further.
For example, many people find that they rarely use the expensive tools they got for Christmas, or that they bought to complete a single project. In fact, studies have shown that the average power tool is used for only about half an hour in its lifetime. Renting (or borrowing) that specialized tool when you need it can save you money, and free up space in your home or garage.
There are many possible reasons for renting instead of buying, for example:

  • Financial inadequacy, such as renting a house when one is unable to buy it. One may not wish to pay the full price that ownership would need, allowing for smaller payments over a specified period of time.
  • Reducing financial risk due to depreciation and transaction costs, especially for real estate which might be needed only for a short amount of time.
  • When something is needed only temporarily, as in the case of a special tool, a truck or a skip.
  • When something is needed that may or may not be already owned but is not in proximity for use, such as renting an automobile or bicycle when away on a trip.
  • Needing a cheaper alternative to buying, such as renting a movie: a person is unwilling to pay the full price for a movie, so they rent it for a lesser price, but give up the chance to view it again later.
  • The renter may want to leave the burden of upkeep of the property (mowing the lawn, shoveling snow, etc.) to the owner or his agents.
  • There is no need to worry about lifespan and maintenance.
  • Renting keeps off-balance-sheet the debt that would burden the balance sheet of a company in case the property would have been bought.
  • Renting can be better for the environment if products are used more efficiently by sharing rather than being disposed of or overproduced

Ask yourself this...who doesn't have something they own that is under-used, or want the use of something but cannot justify the cost of buying their own or do not want to buy something as they do not have space to store it? We could make money from lots of things we own
if we
rented them out and at the same time do
our bit to reduce our carbon footprint. Forget the money for the moment and just think about where everything you own comes from and how it gets to you. The likelihood is that it contains natural resources, has been manufactured by a process that emits harmful substances into the atmosphere and then gets to you via a chain of transportation methods that are also harmful to the air that we breathe. There are also items that we would like to use but cannot justify the cost of owning ourselves. To rent anything you want go here http://www.newnusedlink.com/rent-in-jamaica.php

Importance of water

 http://www.newnusedlink.com
H20 - two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. This substance also known as water, is one of the most essential elements to health and is so important that your body actually has a specific drought management system in place to prevent dehydration and ensure your survival. Water might be everywhere, but one must never take it for granted. Water makes up more than two thirds of human body weight, and without water, we would die in a few days. The human brain is made up of 95% water, blood is 82% and lungs 90%. A mere 2% drop in our body's water supply can trigger signs of dehydration. Water is important to the mechanics of the human body. The body cannot work without it, just as a car cannot run without gas and oil. In fact, all the cell and organ functions that make up our entire anatomy and physiology depend on water for their functioning. Water serves as a lubricant in digestion and almost all other body processes. The water in our saliva helps facilitate chewing and swallowing, ensuring that food will slide easily down the esophagus. Water also lubricates our joints and cartilages and allows them to (pardon the pun) move more fluidly. When dehydrated, the body rations water away from the joints. Less lubrication equals greater friction and that can cause joint, knee and back pain potentially leading to injuries and arthritis. Even our eyeballs need plenty of lubrication to work well and remain healthy. Water can dissolve many different substances, giving it varying tastes and odors. Humans and other animals have developed senses that enable them to evaluate the potability of water by avoiding water that is too salty or putrid. The taste of spring water and mineral water, often advertised in marketing of consumer products, derives from the minerals dissolved in it. However, pure H2O is tasteless and odorless. The advertised purity of spring and mineral water refers to absence of toxins, pollutants and microbes, not the absence of naturally occurring minerals.

Are Ghosts Real?

Everyone has there own opinion on the ghosts but for me i have never seen one so i dont believe in them but lets explore all about ghosts and see what conclusions can be drawn. Ghosts have been a popular subject and appearing in countless stories, from "Macbeth" to the Bible, and even spawning their own folklore genre: ghost stories. Ghosts are perhaps the most common paranormal belief in the world. Part of the reason is that belief in ghosts is part of a larger web of related paranormal beliefs, including near-death experience, life after death, and spirit communication. The idea that the dead remain with us in spirit is an ancient one, and one that offers many people comfort; who doesn't want to believe that our beloved but deceased family members aren't looking out for us, or with us in our times of need? Most people believe in ghosts because of personal experience; they have seen or sensed some unexplained presence. Personal experience is one thing, but scientific evidence is another matter. Part of the difficulty in investigating ghosts is that there is not one universally agreed-upon definition of what a ghost is. Some believe that they are spirits of the dead who for whatever reason get "lost" on their way to The Other Side; others claim that ghosts are instead telepathic entities projected into the world from our minds.
There are many contradictions inherent in ideas about ghosts. For example, are ghosts material or not? Either they can move through solid objects without disturbing them, or they can slam doors shut and throw objects across the room. Logically and physically, it's one or the other. If ghosts are human souls, why do they appear clothed and with (presumably soulless) inanimate objects like hats, canes, and dresses — not to mention the many reports of ghost trains, cars and carriages? If ghosts are the spirits of those whose deaths were unavenged, why are there unsolved murders, since ghosts are said to communicate with psychic mediums, and should be able to identify their killers for the police. And so on; just about any claim about ghosts raises logical reasons to doubt it. Many people believe that support for the existence of ghosts can be found in no less a hard science than modern physics. It is widely claimed that Albert Einstein suggested a scientific basis for the reality of ghosts; if energy cannot be created or destroyed but only change form, what happens to our body's energy when we die? Could that somehow be manifested as a ghost? It seems like a reasonable assumption — unless you understand basic physics. The answer is very simple, and not at all mysterious. After a person dies, the energy in his or her body goes where all organisms' energy goes after death: into the environment. The energy is released in the form of heat, and transferred into the animals that eat us (i.e., wild animals if we are left unburied, or worms and bacteria if we are interred), and the plants that absorb us. There is no bodily "energy" that survives death to be detected with popular ghost-hunting devices.
I do believe that the people, who act as paranormal investigators on these TV programs, are sincere and believe in what they're doing. But I am also a bit suspect of the some of the evidence they present, because it is relatively easy to manipulate any photo or audio evidence with computer image and audio editing software. So before you believe in any of the evidence these ghost hunter programs present, think of the ways it could have been tampered with or manipulated. They also rely on what they call EVP, or electronic voice phenomenon. The problem I see with these is that most of them are unintelligible, and the investigators seem to come up with whatever they think may have been said. I think some of this so called EVP is nothing more than static or natural disturbances of the electromagnetic field in the area where the EVP is being conducted, and that static may sound like words because the human brain does try to make sense out of the chaos of that static. It's the same phenomenon that allows us to see figures in the clouds; your brain tries to make sense out of that randomness. But again, I am open minded enough to believe that some of these EVP may be actual attempt by a ghost or spirit to communicate with the living. I hope no one misunderstands, I am not insinuating that these ghost programs are faked, but you do need to understand that they are made for television and must continue to offer entertainment value, if they wish to remain on television. Well i know people who say they have had encounters with ghosts and shadows or different energy levels at some part in their lives but i think we will never know the full truth until we are dead (although this might not make sense.......still a thought)

Cleveland kidnapping

Sometimes i wonder what is wrong with some men, how the f*** can some people be so wicked as to kidnap innocent females, molest them and lock them up for 10 years what is going on in this world. Those men should be punished and suffer feeling nothing but countless pain...... had to get that off my chest.
Two days after three women missing at least a decade were freed from a home in downtown Cleveland, details about the victims and the suspects are starting to emerge.Police say Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were all held captive in a home owned by local musician and bus driver Ariel Castro and his brothers. Neighbors said they had no idea anyone else was inside Castro’s home on Seymour Avenue. They only knew him as a “nice guy” who liked to attend barbecues, listen to Spanish music and ride a four-wheeler. But police say his home was a prison, where the three women were tied down in order to keep from escaping.

THE VICTIMS
Amanda Berry: As a 17-year-old, Berry worked a part-time job at a Burger King. But she left work on April 21, 2003 and never came back. Her mother, the late Louwana Miller, told the Plain Dealer newspaper the next month that she kept Amanda’s bed as it was, and left clean laundry for her stacked on the dresser. The following year, Berry’s case was featured on “America’s Most Wanted.” Berry gave birth six years ago in captivity. It was not clear who the father was. On Monday night, a neighbor, Charles Ramsey, spotted Berry kicking the door and screaming: “I’ve been in this house a long time, and I want to leave right now!” Berry called 911, pleading with the dispatcher to send a police car immediately: “I’m Amanda Berry. I’ve been on the news for the last 10 years.”
Gina DeJesus: DeJesus was 14, in seventh grade, when she left school April 2, 2004 to walk home one day and vanished. Her first name is short for Georgina. A website set up to spread word of her disappearance said she had pierced ears — one in the left ear, two in the right. In April, DeJesus’ family held a rally to mark the ninth anniversary of her disappearance. Her mother, Nancy Ruiz, said at the time that she was certain her daughter was alive. On Tuesday, a giant “WELCOME HOME GINA” banner hung from the family’s house, and a growing cluster of brightly colored helium balloons decorated the front of the home. Someone strung her missing-poster photo between the front stoop and the mailbox. DeJesus is now 23.
Michelle Knight: Knight was 21 when she disappeared  the oldest of the kidnapping victims and by far the least known. She was last seen at a cousin’s house on Aug. 22, 2002, not far from where Berry and DeJesus were last seen. Her grandmother, Barbara Knight, told the newspaper that she never believed her granddaughter would disappear without so much as a phone call. But she said family members concluded, based on conversations with police and social workers, that Knight probably ran away because she was angry that her son had been removed from her custody. Knight is 32 today.

Alcohol effects on the brain

Alcohol affects the brain causing difficulty walking, blurred vision, slurred speech, slowed reaction times, impaired memory: Some of these impairments are detectable after only one or two drinks and quickly resolve when drinking stops. On the other hand, a person who drinks heavily over a long period of time may have brain deficits that persist well after he or she achieves sobriety.
I do know that heavy drinking may have extensive and far–reaching effects on the brain, ranging from simple “slips” in memory to permanent and debilitating conditions that require lifetime custodial care. A number of factors influence how and to what extent alcohol affects the brain includes
  • how much and how often a person drinks;
  • the age at which he or she first began drinking, and how long he or she has been drinking;
  • the person’s age, level of education, gender, genetic background, and family history of alcoholism;
  • whether he or she is at risk as a result of prenatal alcohol exposure; and
  • his or her general health status.
Large quantities of alcohol, especially when consumed quickly and on an empty stomach, can produce a blackout, or an interval of time for which the intoxicated person cannot recall key details of events, or even entire events. Blackouts are much more common among social drinkers than previously assumed and should be viewed as a potential consequence of acute intoxication regardless of age or whether the drinker is clinically dependent on alcohol. A research was done and proved that regardless of the amount of alcohol consumption, females are at greater risk than males for experiencing blackouts. A woman’s tendency to black out more easily probably results from differences in how men and women metabolize alcohol. Females also may be more susceptible than males to milder forms of alcohol induced memory impairments, even when men and women consume comparable amounts of alcohol.People who have been drinking large amounts of alcohol for long periods of time run the risk of developing serious and persistent changes in the brain. Alcoholics are not all alike. They experience different degrees of impairment, and the disease has different origins for different people. Consequently, researchers have not found conclusive evidence that any one variable is solely responsible for the brain deficits found in alcoholics. Characterizing what makes some alcoholics vulnerable to brain damage whereas others are not remains the subject of active research. Most alcoholics with cognitive impairment show at least some improvement in brain structure and functioning within a year of abstinence, though some people take much longer.

Rappers being dropped

Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz, Reebok CEO
A few weeks ago Reebok dropped Rick Ross over a flurry of controversy surrounding lyrics that seemed to promote date rape in the song "UOENO. It stemmed from a line during his guest verse on "UOENO" in which he said, "Put molly all in her champagne/ She ain't even know it/ I took her home and I enjoyed that/ She ain't even know it. Reebok cut ties with Ross, issuing the following statement:
"Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand," the statement read. "Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so. While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones sexual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse. At this time, it is in everyone's best interest for Reebok to end its partnership with Mr. Ross. Although Ross was recently pictured with Reebok's CEO Uli Becker and Swizz Beatz and it appears that his sponsorship deal may be re-instated.
Now a next rapper in the hot seat is lil wayne, he has been dropped by his main corporate sponsors, Mountain Dew, for making a derogatory reference to civil rights hero Emmett Till in a rap. The rapper has been criticised for his verse on Future's 'Karate Chop (remix)' in which he says: "'Bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels. Beat that pussy up like Emmett Till". Fourteen-year-old Emmett Till was brutally murdered in 1955 after apparently flirting with a married white woman.Wayne later issued an apology to Till's family yesterday and promised that he would remove the lyrics from his catalogue. But, according to Spin, PepsiCo - which owns Mountain Dew - has decided to end its relationship with the hip-hop star.We do not plan any additional work with Lil Wayne moving forward," they said in a statement. "His offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand Mountain Dew's decision comes just days after it was forced to pull an advert from the air which featured Odd Future leader Tyler, The Creator. The commercial was criticised for being racist and downplaying violence against women, although Tyler reacted by insisting that the controversy surrounding the advert would not change his art. In my opinion i feel like these big companies should just chill because before signing these rappers they were already rapping about odd stuff so its either they just accept them for what they represent or turn to some pop artists although some of them or not even better lol.

Kriss Kross member dead

The mother of rapper Chris Kelly told authorities in Atlanta her son became sick after taking cocaine and heroin on the night before he died, according to a police report. Kelly, half of the 1990s teen rap duo Kriss Kross, was found dead Wednesday of a suspected drug overdose. Kelly’s mother, Donna Kelly Pratte, 54, and his uncle, Lamar Williams, 52, told authorities Kelly had a history of drug abuse and experienced similar episodes in the past, according to the Fulton County police report Paramedics found Kelly, 34, unresponsive on a living room couch at his Atlanta home and tried administering CPR. Kelly, who was known as “Mac Daddy,” was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Authorities completed a physical examination of Kelly’s body and a toxicology screening was being done to determine cause of death, said Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office. Kriss Kross was introduced to the music world in 1992 by music producer and rapper Jermaine Dupri after he discovered the pair at Greenbriar Mall in southwest Atlanta. Kelly performed alongside Chris Smith, who known as “Daddy Mac.”
Their first, and by far most successful song, was “Jump.” The hit, off their multiplatinum 1992 debut album “Totally Krossed Out,” featured the two trading verses and rapping the refrain, the song’s title. The duo had surprising maturity in their rap delivery, though the song was written by Dupri. It would become a No. 1 smash in the United States and globally, and one of the most popular of that year.
Their success led to instant fame: They toured with Michael Jackson, appeared on TV shows, and even had their own video game. The group was never able to match the tremendous success of their first song, though they had other hits like “Warm It Up,” and “Tonite’s tha Night.”
In 2009, after photos surfaced that showed Kelly with bald spots on his head, there were rumors that he had cancer. But in an interview posted on YouTube by Straight from the A TV, he said he suffered from alopecia, a condition in which people lose their hair. “My health is good, I just got alopecia, I don’t have cancer, not other sort of diseases,” he said. Earlier this year, the group also performed together to celebrate the anniversary of Durpri’s label, So So Def.

Usain Bolt out of race

The fastest man in the world, Six-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt has been ruled out of Saturday's Jamaica International Invitational meeting because of a slight hamstring strain, his agent said on Tuesday.
The 100- and 200-meter world record holder felt tightness in training over the weekend and in consultation with Coach Glen Mills decided not to risk anything at this early stage of the season, agent Ricky Simms told Reuters."It's a small strain and he's hoping to be OK for next week but you know it's day by day ... maybe for the two or three days. It just a problem of sprinting," Simms said in a telephone interview.
Asked if the injury was serious, Simms replied: "No. He hopes to be running in Cayman by next week, so it's what you call a grade one strain, which is you can't sprint, but you can walk OK. He's not limping or anything." Bolt was scheduled to run his first 200 meters of the season against Jamaican Olympic bronze medalist Warren Weir and American Wallace Spearmon in the meeting. His next scheduled race is a 100 meter run in the May 8 Cayman Islands meeting."I am disappointed to miss the Kingston meet as I love running in front of my home crowd in Jamaica," Bolt said in a statement. "I'm told it is only a grade one strain so hopefully I will be OK soon." Bolt started his season in style on March 31 on Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Beach with a 14.42 seconds clocking over 150 meters on the purpose-built track.
